What’s Happening
This Sunday in Bayfield WI:
I’m with Jennifer Grimm and our tribute to Judy Garland show: JENNIFER GRIMM SINGS JUDY GARLAND at the Big Top Chautauqua in Bayfield WI

Jennifer Grimm Sings Judy Garland is an energetic, uplifting concert celebrating Judy Garland’s music and showmanship with such joyful integrity that the Judy Garland Museum™️ selected Grimm and her show to perform at the 100th Birthday Celebration of Judy Garland. Join Jennifer and her 11-piece band as she sweetly sails through Garland classics such as “You Made Me Love You,” “Zing! Went the Strings of My Heart” and, of course, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”
Both Grimm and Garland were born in Minnesota to vaudeville families, bringing command and charisma to the stage as only lifelong entertainers can. Although they were born over half a century apart, the sentimental sounds of the Judy Garland era seem to be a perfect fit for Grimm’s well-known versatility and ability to bring powerful vocals to the showstopping numbers as well as an intimate tenderness to Garland’s ballads that will leave a lump in your throat.
Come hear the music, feel the joy, and experience the widely acclaimed show honoring this iconic star of stage and screen.
NON-MUSIC THOUGHTS:
During these days of division it’s nice to immerse yourself in music which transcends any politics. Sports also transcends it. People of all stripes can get into music or sports.
Speaking of sports, sports, sports: Twin Cities pretty much runs the gamut on pro sports teams: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, minor league baseball (St Paul Saints, the Twins minor league team); not to mention NCAA sports (UofM).
And with all those venues that also attract national acts, along with the Orpheum, Pantages, Chanhassen theaters, et al., there’s always plenty of top notch entertainment going on.
